2008 Late Disgorged Blanc de Blancs
This is a truly special wine, made from 100% Chardonnay with a minimum of 6 years ageing on its yeast lees. From a cool vintage, 2008 led to wines with high acidity and a racy citrus fruit profile which has provided wines from this vintage with exceptional finesse and a superb ability to age.
Light golden in colour with soft, gentle bubbles, this wine has a creamy, developed autolytic nose from extended ageing on the lees. On the palate there is lime-zest freshness with a good mousse, flavour intensity and a creamy texture. Fresh lemon and lime citrus flavours form the backbone of the wine, along with red fruits and brioche characters leading to a balanced, long finish.

Bluebell Vineyard is still a relatively new estate, but with experienced winemaker Kevin Sutherland and passionate owners, they have come a long way quickly. Initially concentrating on producing sparkling high quality wine under their Hindleap brand, but with a substantial increase from around 6 to 25 acres of land under vine, they plan to introduce some still wines to the portfolio very shortly.
Visitors are invited to enjoy a tour or tasting in the charming tasting room, take a wander through the vineyard and woodland trail or bring a picnic and enjoy the spectacular views of the vineyard and waters from the terraced seating area.
Situated close to the Bluebell Steam Railway and Sheffield Park and Garden in Sussex, the vineyard is surrounded by beautiful countryside, amazing pubs and some of Sussex’s best attractions so why not combine a visit to the vineyard with a fun day out and lunch?
Bluebell vineyard is only a 40 minute drive from Brighton, 20 minutes from Lewes and only an hour and a half from London via the M25 and M23.
The main vineyard and tasting room is situated on Slider’s Lane, off the A275 East Grinstead – Lewes main road, about four miles north of its junction with the A272. It is just two miles north of The Bluebell Railway at Sheffield Park, which is well signposted with brown tourist direction signs from both the A22 and A23 trunk roads.
