Hanwell Wine Estate is home to the typical Champagne varieties of Chardonnay, Pinot Noir and Pinot Meunier, which have been planted with the intention of making white and rosé English sparkling wine.

The first commercial harvest has been undertaken and while the wines await full development to be ready for sale, there is lots of opportunity to get involved with the viticultural activity at this 35 acre site in Hickling Pastures. As well as tours and tastings throughout the growing season, there is the opportunity to rent a vine and volunteers are always welcome to join in the harvest.

While owners William and Helenka Brown have come to the vineyard after, or in parallel with, other careers, Helenka’s parents Tony & V Skuriat are well known for their Eglantine Vineyard, most famous for its North Star dessert wine. Their vineyard is not far away and Tony is also making the wine for Hanwell.
