Featured wine - Gusbourne Rosé
Everything about Gusbourne’s Twenty Fourteen sparkling rosé whispers elegance. The long-necked bottle of darkened glass (to protect the wine from the light), the copper flash of the foil and the satisfyingly textured label. Open the bottle and it’s the same – a beautiful pink mousse, ripe red apple aromas and a hint of strawberry.
Pinot Noir makes up just over half of the blend, with 41% Chardonnay and 6% Pinot Meunier the rest. This Pinot dominance produces a rosé with red fruits to the fore, a wine that’s well-structured and serious with an appealing cherry note to the long, satisfying finish.
Gusbourne recently opened The Nest, a smart new tasting room at their Kent vineyard where you can taste this and the rest of their wines. It’s well worth a gander.
