Sparkling wine made with 100% Pinot Noir grapes grown at Aldwick Estate
Aldwick Estate is a working farm and delightful wedding / conference venue with 11 acres of vines across 2 vineyards.
Tradition and Innovation
Home to the same family for five generations, Aldwick Court Farm has upheld a family custom of applying innovative solutions to changing and uncertain conditions. Diversification in the 21st century increasingly becomes critical to survival. The development of Aldwick’s two vineyards stands testament to this.
Established in 2008
In 2008, the late Chris Watts broke ground in approximately two acres of Homefield for his first vineyard. Things have grown and evolved since then, with more land under vine and the varieties of grape revisited to make best use of the conditions.
The estate is now under the stewardship of Chris’s sister Sandy Luck, who has created a delightfully secluded spot that is nevertheless very close to both the centre of Bristol and to rural Somerset.
A Special Wedding Venue
The venue comprises two adjacent stone barns, linked by the main reception; behind this invitingly lies the brick-walled Cellar Bar. Architectural features of the bygone dairy Old Barn resonate in the 2013 New Barn. Both are licensed for civil Wedding ceremonies. Exclusive use of the venue allows considerable scope to designate and decorate the rooms according to individual taste and requirement.
Aldwick Estate Wines
Still and sparkling wines are produced which are available for consumption at weddings, sold at the cellar door and at the nearby Lye Cross Farm Shop (useful particularly on Saturdays, when the vineyard cannot offer purchase and tastings due to weddings).
