Situated near the village of Althorne, Essex, Clayhill Vineyard sits on the south facing slopes of the Crouch Vale with its clay soils running down to the river.
Local Climate at Clayhill Vineyard
On a coastal peninsula and positioned between the rivers Crouch & Blackwater gives Clayhill Vineyard the advantage of a mesoclimate. This brings mild winters and hot dry summers, which should be ideal conditions to produce quality grapes for quality wines.
Wines and other Products
Clayhill make their own wines on site along with grape juices, apple juices and liqueurs.
Wine Tasting and a Bite to Eat with a View
With a smart new tea room open in June 2017, this is a welcome new addition to our list of visitor-friendly vineyards.
