Pale gold in colour with an abundance of fine bubbles, this Hattingley Valley Classic Reserve has vibrant baked apple, creamy nougat and brioche notes on the nose, supported by a hint of toast and fresh red fruit representative of the 2014 vintage.
With notes of soft lemon sherbet on the palate, the wine has a beautiful weight from partial oak fermentation of the base wine. Refreshing and perfectly balanced, this wine has a delightful long finish.
Hattingley Valley is a family owned business located in Hampshire which specialises in making premium English sparkling wines.
Simon Robinson established Hattingley Valley in 2008 when the first vineyard was planted with Chardonnay, Pinot Noir and Pinot Meunier. Currently over 24 hectares (60 acres) of vines are managed across two well-situated sited under the watchful eyes of the vineyard managers. The vines are nurtured throughout the growing year with an environmentally-sensitive approach to viticulture ensuring optimum ripeness, yield and quality of fruit.
The custom-built, eco-friendly winery was completed in 2010. Equipped to the highest standard with the latest technology and equipment from continental Europe, it has sophisticated waste disposal facilities and was the first UK winery to adopt solar power. Director / Winemaker Emma Rice, Jacob Leadley and the rest of the winemaking team oversee everything to the most minute detail to ensure consistently high quality wines.
Hattingley Valley is an excellent producer to visit for a good understanding of the processes involved in wine-making.
Where to Lunch
There is no catering on-site (other than for private catered events) but we highly recommend the nearby Yew Tree pub for lunch.

The postcode is relatively new (SO24 9AJ) so as long as your sat nav device is up to date or you use Google Maps it should bring you right to the winery gates.
Alternatively follow the signs to The Yew Tree pub in Lower Wield and the vineyard is located about 100 yards away on the opposite side of the lane, identified by a large Hattingley Valley banner across the entrance gates.
